WHAT WE’RE GOOD AT

ABA THERAPY

ABA therapy, or Applied Behavior Analysis, is an intensive treatment program that has been proven effective at improving socially significant behaviors, such as social skills, language and communication, reading, academics, and other adaptive living skills that your child needs to thrive.

By systematically applying principles and techniques based on the science of learning and behavior, ABA is able to teach these skills by breaking them down into concrete steps. We track data to measure the progress of your child and ensure that we are meeting our goals.

Using the principles of ABA we help our learners develop new skills, as well as to modify any problem behaviors. We do this by looking at the function, or the reason for, each behavior. The use of reinforcement is critical to an ABA program and allows us to make learning fun for your child!

Family-First ABA Therapy at Unlocking The Spectrum

At Unlocking The Spectrum, we create individualized autism therapy programs for our clients and their families because we understand that, together, we can achieve more to help your child and your entire family thrive.

We’re here to help you navigate insurance, share our expertise, and support you and your child when they’re ready to transition out of our services. Through it all, we remain committed to making the highest quality ABA therapy affordable for your family.

INDIVIDUALIZED PLANS

Every child we work with will have an individualized ABA therapy plan created, and continuously adapted, to address their unique developmental, social, adaptive, and behavioral needs.

In some of our locations we offer both center-based and home-based ABA therapy. We can speak with you about what would be best for your child.

ONE-ON-ONE THERAPY and GROUP SESSIONS

We provide one-on-one ABA therapy to build skills, address challenging behaviors and prepare our clients for a variety of activities and environments.

To further prepare clients for their next learning environment we provide structured activities in peer groups at our centers. Every child in the group setting has access to positive peer models, socialization, and peer collaboration through fun learning objectives.

IN-HOME CONSULTATION

We strongly believe in a family-focused ABA therapy model that takes into consideration the whole child. Because of this, we offer in-home BCBA consultations, even when your child’s services are center-based. These consultations can include parent trainings and therapy sessions with the child’s full team of Unlocking The Spectrum ABA professionals.

DESENSITIZATION PROGRAMS

Sometimes it is helpful to begin a desensitization program for a particularly difficult activity such as dentist or doctor appointments,  haircuts, etc. We have facilities at our ABA therapy centers to assist in these programs and are always here to help your child develop the skills they need to succeed across different environments.

What Is ABA Therapy? A Proven Approach for Skill Development

Skills assessments allow us to develop a personalized ABA therapy program for your child. Assessments are done using the VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, Vineland, SSIS, AFLS, BDI-2, and/or other developmentally appropriate assessments addressing communication skills, functional skills, and social skills. Please feel free to reach out to learn more about what this process looks like!

FUNCTIONAL ANALYSES

To best address challenging behaviors we provide Functional Behavior Assessments(FBA)/Functional Analyses (FA). This allows us to further understand what is driving the behavior and to develop and implement Behavior Intervention Plans, including providing training and support for families. FBAs/FAs are completed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). As with all the autism therapy services we offer, these plans will be personalized for every unique child we work with.

INSURANCE VERIFICATION

We understand the importance of making our services financially accessible and take care of the verification of insurance coverage, as well as assist in securing insurance that will cover services under the Indiana and Texas Autism Mandates.

OTHER SERVICES

We are committed to going above and beyond to best serve every child who walks through our doors. Some of the other services we provide to meet the needs of our clients and their families include: social skills training, toilet training, weekly program review by a program manager, parent training, client advocacy and IEP meeting support for UTS clients, hiring, scheduling, and ongoing training of therapists, completion and submission of all billing claims.
