Make Your Own Sensory Bin

Sensory bins are great to meet the need for sensory input. Making your own also encourages independence, fine motor skills, counting, and tacting. Tacting is a term that we use in ABA for naming, or labeling, an item.

So, let’s get started!

While you’re playing with your sensory bin don’t forget to encourage your child to go searching for the small toys and objects that you put in there. This can help with tacting and fine motor skills!

If you don’t have the time to make this right now you can simplify a bit by using Water Beads or un-dyed White Rice. Or you can purchase a full kit! They can be found at Target, Michael’s and Amazon.
